Nowadays most of us have this routine to turn the TV on in the morning or use our mobiles to consume information about this speedily growing pandemic. However, this constant shower of news and information feels overwhelming, many times. It is making us feel how vulnerable we are compared to forces of nature.


The lockdown and quarantine can trigger our emotions, making us anxious or stressed. While these feelings are totally normal as the uncertain circumstances we are in, it is important to reduce its impact on us both physically and emotionally.

Here are a few steps you can follow to ensure that your mental health is taken care of good.

1. Connecting to family and friends

While many of us are fortunate to live through in lockdown with our families, some of us are not. Lots of people away from home all alone. Such people should call and talk to their parents. Sharing your thoughts will make you feel lighter and less lonely. Make video calls to your friends and share a laugh. This can be the best times to connect with the friends you lost in touch with.

2. Follow a routine

Having a routine is important for our mental well-being as it will help us feel we are in control of the situation. So take your meals at the regular time, and also set times for sleep and waking up. Most importantly limit your consumption of news and social media as it can make you feel overwhelmed. Avoid watching news frequently as it can make you feel anxious, give your mind some rest. Read stuff only that is practical and helpful.
